Wesley Swindell is a highly experienced Costs Draftsman who specialises in the preparation of Costs Budgets, Precedent Ts, and Bills of Costs across a broad spectrum of legal matters. His expertise spans high-value Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence claims, Court of Protection cases, Solicitor and Own Client Assessments and Family Costs.

Wesley has a deep understanding of the costs assessment process, including Detailed Assessments, costs negotiations and the strategic application of the Civil Procedure Rules. He regularly prepares Points of Dispute and Replies and advises on costs recovery and risk management strategies.

With a strong aptitude for technology, Wesley is proficient in all major case management systems, Microsoft Office, Costs Master, bundling software and legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw. His technical skills enhance the efficiency and accuracy of his work, ensuring clients receive a high standard of service.

Involved in costs management and costs proceedings in a claim arising out of a fall from a third-floor YMCA hostel for vulnerable adults. Liability was heavily disputed, and the claimant eventually succeeded in establishing liability against the Defendant following a six-day Trial. This case was subsequently shortlisted for Outstanding Case of the Year 2023.

Acting for various Trust Corporations in relation to the costs of managing protected party funds exceeding several million pounds.

Involved in costs proceedings in a claim arising out of civil proceedings brought by property owners and the Council against the Defendant for trespass, breach of licence and breach of the claimant’s right to light.

Involved in the costs management of a dispute in relation to unpaid introducer fees, breach of contract and unjust enrichment where the defendant involved was a housing association.
