Ellie Harding

Solicitor

Ellie is a Solicitor with a varied amount of experience supporting Partners with a range of litigation matters, including serious injury, commercial litigation and engineering disputes. Ellie assists with preparing cases of all values from initial instruction through to trial. Ellie is confident liaising with both lay persons and professionals on either side of a case and has worked in cases involving extensive witness evidence, complex expert evidence and significant value.

Ellie previously worked for a specialist legal costs practice before undertaking her Training Contract in both Litigation and Private Client-related seats. Ellie’s background in legal costs means that she is able to support clients through the costs recovery process after their claim has concluded, ensuring a continuity of service. After qualifying as a solicitor in April 2023 Ellie now assists on a variety of matters both pre- and post- issue, including supporting clients through mediation and other alternative dispute resolution.

Acting for a utilities network provider in relation to a number of disputes including negotiating settlement of a previously longstanding dispute with a building contractor at mediation, saving the parties the expense of proceeding to trial.

Acting for an injured school pupil struck by a car on their walk home from school, securing an agreement for settlement with the opponent without needing to issue Court proceedings where liability was wholly disputed, including securing a settlement which accounted for additional tutoring expenses incurred as the pupil’s GCSE results were adversely affected.

Acting for a self-employed businessman in an occupiers’ liability personal injury claim involving a complex loss of earnings claim valued in excess of £1,000,000, to include liaising with numerous medical experts, forensic accountants and coordinating the loss of earnings evidence of more than 15 individuals.

Acting for an individual in respect of poor construction works carried out on their home and securing proposals for alternative dispute resolution with the opponent less than 3 months after first instruction, where the client had moved their dispute over to us following 3+ years of their claim being stagnant with their previous solicitor.
